Contractors who employ NABCEP-certified solar professionals are indicated below their listing. NABCEP is the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners and offers certifications and credentials for skilled professionals, specialists and those new to working in the areas of photovoltaics, solar heating, and small wind technologies. This Directory distinguishes two levels of NABCEP certification.
NABCEP "Solar PV Installation Professional" certification is earned by professionals with substantial training and experience and requires passing a rigorous exam.
NABCEP "PV Associate" certification is for professionals who may be newer to the field. It recognizes individuals who have demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental principles of the application, design, installation, and operation of PV systems, and indicates their ability to work on these systems in a supervised capacity.
To be included in this listing, all companies must affirm that they abide by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) Solar Business Code. SEIA created this Code “to promote transparency, good faith, and understanding in the U.S. solar energy industry.” A guiding principle of the Code is that companies should conduct all aspects of their business “without any unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices.”
