Who We Are

The Kentucky Solar Energy Society (KySES) was formed in 2007 by solar enthusiasts and professionals to inform, educate and advocate in Kentucky on issues of energy conservation, energy efficiency, solar and other renewables. KySES is an official chapter of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). Through our affiliation with ASES our members have access to an international network of renewable energy researchers, experts, advocates and professionals.

What We Do

The Kentucky Solar Energy Society advocates and educates to increase the use of sustainable solar energy in Kentucky. Our website, quarterly news-letter and annual meetings are informational resources to stay abreast of the latest solar news, events and demonstrations. Our members have been instrumental in establishing Kentucky’s Net Metering laws and Energy Performance Standards for the state. In early October, we sponsor and participate in the annual ASES National Solar Tour across the state. We are committed to promoting a sustainable energy future for Kentucky.
