Attend the 10th annual Solar Tour in Louisville!  Join this exciting day where you can tour existing solar installations to see how Kentucky families and businesses are harnessing free energy from the sun to generate electricity, warm and cool their homes, heat water, charge their electric cars, and slash monthly utility bills.

Click here for the Mayor's Proclamation of October 7, 2017 as Louisville Solar Tour Day!

The tour begins at Copper and Kings, the Butchertown solar powered brandy distillery with a free information session led by experts describing the financial, social, and environmental benefits of using solar power.  Speakers will also address how to obtain and finance solar power. All are welcome to attend.

At 11 A.M., after the introductory session, tour participants will board a bus or join a group bike tour. The Solar Tour will then visit designated houses, churches and business locations featuring unique solar installations.  On site owners or installers will present briefly at each location.  The Bus Tour is limited to 40 participants, and costs $15.00.  The bike tour is free and open to the public.

After touring, the participants will gather at Apocalypse Brew Works to celebrate solar energy and socialize.  Food trucks, tabling and refreshments will be at this solar powered brewery to enhance enjoyment as we finish the day.

This event is one of hundreds being held across the U.S. as part of the 22th Annual National Solar Tour of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). The national and local tours are designed to demonstrate practical and economic solar solutions, and to encourage community conversations addressing the growing need for clean energy.  The 2017 Solar Tour is offered by a collaboration of non profit volunteer organizations including KY Solar Energy Society, and Solar Over Louisville, as well as other dedicated volunteers.

We look forward to seeing you at all or any of the activities that you choose to attend from the following schedule.
